My dad had the Chevy Caprice version of that in t he same color when I was a wee lad. We drove all over in that, getting stuck to the brown vinyl seats as they seared gill marks into our legs.
I hated that car.
Still love wagons though.

I’m 99% sure that generation was never available with a manual in any of the GM brands. Very cool, especially with the third row!

They were available with a diesel though. The half-baked Olds 350.

Supposedly, a column shift manual was planned, but canceled pretty late in the development process.

I’m surprised they even thought about it. Manuals died halfway through the previous generation of Chevrolets. Even in that gen you could only get it on the 6, which was a dog in those heavy cars.
